A Heart of Gratitude: Reflections, Faith, and the Power of Choosing Your Next Season

Published: Thanksgiving Day
As we gather on this Thanksgiving Day, my heart is overflowing with gratitude. This year — and even just this past week — has reminded me how much God uses our seasons of stretching, uncertainty, and transition to grow our faith and shape our purpose.
If you’ve been connected to me for a while, you know that 2025 has been a year of pivots, stretching, and major shifts. I’ve walked through moments where things didn’t make sense, moments where I had to release control, and moments where I had to cling to God harder than I ever have before. But here’s what I’ve learned:
When God is shifting you, He will always strengthen you.
And this week leading into Thanksgiving, I’ve been reflecting on that truth more deeply than ever.
Gratitude in the Transition
Gratitude doesn’t always come from everything being perfect — sometimes it comes from realizing how far God has carried you through imperfect seasons.
This week alone reminded me of how much I’ve grown.
From the hard conversations, to the breakthroughs, to the mindset shifts, to the clarity He gave me around the next chapter of my life… I see God’s hand in all of it.
I’m grateful for:
The rooms God allowed me to walk into this year — rooms that stretched my thinking and elevated my faith
The people who poured into me, challenged me, and helped me see what’s possible
The mentors, coaches, and communities that helped me grow from the inside out
The moments where I wanted to give up but God said, “Keep going — you’re closer than you think”
And most importantly…
I’m grateful that God never leaves us where we are. He develops us. He matures us. He prepares us.
Faith vs. Fear: A Lesson for the Season
One thing I’ve been teaching in my coaching community this week is the difference between fear and faith, and how they both show up when we’re stepping into something new.
Here’s the truth:
**Fear says: “What if it doesn’t work?”
Faith says: “But what if it does?”**
Fear focuses on the obstacle.
Faith focuses on the outcome.
Fear freezes you.
Faith activates you.
Fear requires proof.
Faith requires trust.
And the more I’ve coached women through major transitions — starting a new chapter, healing from old patterns, stepping into entrepreneurship, rebuilding confidence, or simply learning how to put themselves first again — the more I see this:
Fear is not the enemy. Staying stuck is.
Fear might tap you on the shoulder, but faith invites you to rise.
So if you’re in a moment right now where you’re hesitating, overthinking, second-guessing yourself, or delaying what you know God is nudging you to do… I want to encourage you:
Move forward anyway. Even small steps count.
Courage isn’t the absence of fear.
Courage is taking the step with the fear — because you trust God more than you trust your doubt.
A Gentle Challenge for You This Thanksgiving
Before today ends, I want you to pause and reflect on this question:
What is one thing God carried you through this year that you haven’t thanked Him for yet?
Maybe it was a closed door.
Maybe it was a new opportunity.
Maybe it was a hard season that made you stronger.
Maybe it was a shift that stretched your faith.
Whatever it is…
Acknowledge it.
Honor it.
Thank Him for it.
Because gratitude is the posture that positions you for the next chapter of your life.
As We Prepare to Close This Year…
I want you to know:
I’m praying for you.
I’m rooting for you.
And I truly believe that your next season will be your best season — not because it will be easy, but because you are walking into it with more wisdom, more clarity, and more alignment than ever before.
This is your season to:
✨ Reset
✨ Realign
✨ Rebuild
✨ Rise
And I’m honored to walk alongside you as you step into everything God has for you.
**With Gratitude,
Darneisha**
